Meet the Yachtmaster Team
David is the doyen of the Norfolk Broads having spent the best part of 27 years serving the insurance needs of its water borne population and those that also service the hire fleets, boat yards and repairers. Still a keen sailor in an esoteric vessel known as a Norfolk punt he also rescues worthy boats from dereliction applying his own hands to restoration projects.
David became Managing Director of Yachtmaster in 2008, having previously been involved in the marine insurance industry for over 40 years. He currently heads up the claims team and his advice and knowledge, garnered from many years of racing and repairing his many and varied own craft has proven invaluable to many of our clients.
Guy has been an underwriter with Yachtmaster for nearly ten years and was appointed a Director in 2005. He is an RYA Commercially endorsed Yachtmaster (Offshore) with time spent as an RYA instructor / yacht charter skipper aboard his Westerly Typhoon, and also skipper of a commercial fishing vessel, although catch records leave this in doubt!
Guy is also an active Yacht and Powerboat Surveyor and was awarded the YDSA Leslie Oliver Award at the Yacht Designers & Surveyors Association AGM, 2011. Guy’s high level of practical and technical experience dovetail perfectly with the business as a Marine Insurance Underwriter allowing him to completely understand both our clients insurance requirements and technical queries alike. .
Adam’s experience has largely been based around sailing tall ships, square-riggers and Thames sailing barges. His nomadic sailing lifestyle has taken him all over Europe and the Baltic, trans-Atlantic, cruising in the Caribbean and mostly unsuccessful participation in barge matches on the east coast!
Adam has been at Yachtmaster since 2009, his practical knowledge and experience proving invaluable in assisting with new business and commercial enquiries.
Tara has spent time afloat on the Norfolk Broads and is keen to increase her boating knowledge and skills whenever possible - as long as the sun is out of course! Tara hopes to get afloat in coastal waters during the coming season and the East Coast is an ideal training ground to practice her navigational skills.
Tara has been with Yachtmaster since 2007, has learnt the ropes in all departments meaning her experience is invaluable whilst assisting all our renewal enquiries.
